PEARL AQUINO

Hi, I'm Pearl. I'm a senior brand designer and creative with more than 10 years of experience across advertising and B2B software. I'm Filipina, based in Oslo since 2022.

I started as an art director at Dentsu and MullenLowe, advertising agencies in Manila, working for clients like Unilever, Toyota, Uniqlo and Jollibee. My foundations come from those years: move fast, simplify the message, and lead with the human insight before the product feature. This is something I take into all my work: a brand connects when it understands who it's speaking to.

Today, I mainly do brand work for complex, data-heavy products, where the value is technical and the brand has to make it clear and worth paying for. I work across strategy and execution: messaging, identity and campaigns, and the systems underneath that keep it consistent for scaling.

Together, these two sides give me a unique perspective on every problem I take on.

I'm deliberate about design and for me, it starts with the purpose. I want to know why something needs to exist before deciding what it looks like.

How I approach my work

The same order every time, from the brief through to what happens after launch.

01

Understand the problem first

I spend real time on the brief. Clear strategy gives the design something to answer to, and leaves less to preference.

02

Make the value legible

With technical products, the work is making something complicated feel clear and worth paying for. That comes from hierarchy and restraint, not decoration.

03

Make consistency the easier option

Brands drift when staying on brand is harder than not. I build templates and tooling so the right choice is also the convenient one.

04

Protect quality at speed

In-house work ships constantly. Deciding things properly once, inside the system, is what keeps the pace high without the standard dropping.

05

Watch how the work performs

Brand work should do a job. I look at how creative performs and treat that as part of the craft.
